You always take the stairs!?

I have to remind myself to make the best choices I can every day. Think about what I am doing and make intentional changes in behavior until that behavior becomes my reality and routine. Just because I am educated in the health/wellness/fitness world does not mean I don’t fight the same battles as everyone else. What having a constantly growing/expanding knowledge base in the wellness world helps give me more tools to manage the things I personally struggle with and inspire others to do the same. Period.

What I can tell everyone with absolute certainty is the more you do something, the easier it gets until it is part of who you are and how you move. Park further, take the stairs every time you can, drink water instead of anything else, walk to the neighborhood mailbox unit instead of drive, pour a little less dressing on that salad or better yet just dip your salad into the dressing which was measured and poured on the side, weigh your food to be more accurate with calories, don’t eat that cookie at the party…whatever you can do to have better habits us what you do. Train your brain to be consistent at making better choices.

My son told me the other day that he hated going to the mall with me because I always park far away and I always (yes, always) take the stairs. When I make these choices my son has to walk with me and he usually takes the stairs with me. That is a conscious change I made years ago. When I first decided to park further and take the stairs I rolled my eyes st my own decision! I still sucked up the longer walk and managed my way up the staircase instead of taking the escalator. Now, years later, it is just what it is. I don’t think twice about it!

The actions you choose to change today do make major differences in your future. It is your decision whether you want positive or negative impacts. I choose to move forward positively.
