Visualization

Visualization

I am a huge advocacy for holistic care. One huge aspect of my life is daily morning meditation ending with a short visualization practice. I go to an entire different realm of understanding I will be who I see myself being. I visualize myself healthier, stronger,

You always take the stairs!?

You always take the stairs!?

I have to remind myself to make the best choices I can every day. Think about what I am doing and make intentional changes in behavior until that behavior becomes my reality and routine. Just because I am educated in the health/wellness/fitness world does not mean I don’t fight the same battles as everyone else. What having a constantly growing/expanding knowledge base in the wellness world helps give me more tools to manage the things I personally struggle with and inspire others to do the same. Period.

What I can tell everyone with absolute certainty is the more you do something, the easier it gets until it is part of who you are and how you move. Park further, take the stairs every time you can, drink water instead of anything else, walk to the neighborhood mailbox unit instead of drive, pour a little less dressing on that salad or better yet just dip your salad into the dressing which was measured and poured on the side, weigh your food to be more accurate with calories, don’t eat that cookie at the party…whatever you can do to have better habits us what you do. Train your brain to be consistent at making better choices.

My son told me the other day that he hated going to the mall with me because I always park far away and I always (yes, always) take the stairs. When I make these choices my son has to walk with me and he usually takes the stairs with me. That is a conscious change I made years ago. When I first decided to park further and take the stairs I rolled my eyes st my own decision! I still sucked up the longer walk and managed my way up the staircase instead of taking the escalator. Now, years later, it is just what it is. I don’t think twice about it!

The actions you choose to change today do make major differences in your future. It is your decision whether you want positive or negative impacts. I choose to move forward positively.

The weighting Game

The weighting Game

I have a confession to make…I have become a scale junkie. I weigh myself everyday and sometimes twice a day as if my hard work and dedication will be immediately reflected on the scale which is most definitely not the case. I a highly disappointed

Can I drink Alcohol on Keto/Low Carb?

Can I drink Alcohol on Keto/Low Carb?

YES. My go to options are always hard alcohols with soda water and lime. Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Whiskey and other pure alcohols have zero carb. Be careful on the type of mixer used. Tonic has carbs, don’t add soft drinks, juice or other mixers (margarita mixes or any other mixer) or sweet creams.

Low Carb Beers – – There now are low carb beers so research the carb amount prior to consuming.

Champagne or Sparkling wine (extra dry or brut) as well as Dry red or white wines- as a general rule, contain 2g or carbs per glass. (always research what you are drinking prior to drinking it!)

The 1st time I went low carb I would try to eat a lot of quick “low carb” foods but quickly learned the additives would make me crave other higher carb junk food, would slow my weight loss progress, often contained more carbohydrates that I

Operation Single digit jean size

Operation Single digit jean size

It seems like it has been decades since I have worn single digit sized actual Jean’s. Not stretchy Jean’s. Real structured Jean’s with zero give in their size. I started writing this blog after I began eating low carb and exercising. At this point it has been 8 weeks since I began this journey. I have to admit I have been taking burn/cleanse pills from Zeal as well as my daily nutrition Zeal drink to ensure I get ample nutrients and maximize my efforts (www.selflove.zealfor life.com) but today (August 25, 19) is a day of celebration! I am OFFICIALLY back into my size 8 Jean’s. Omg. The best feeling.

Officially in a size 8.
