Can anyone else relate to this? I am old enough to know the dating world before apps and it was WONDERFUL. Now everyone seems to swipe left or right to quickly revolve through multiple people instead of TRULY getting to know a person. There is something magical/special about deeply connecting to another person’s soul and falling deeply in love. Knowing that there is one person in the world who would love and protect you no matter what.The excitement of a PHONE CALL to hear your loved one’s voice and not a text. Monogamy with your ride or die. Receiving a hand writen post card in the mail just because or feeling like your heart is going to explode with excitement just to see the love of your life after a bad day. Some of my best memories are from just sitting in a car, listening to music and just talking/laughing. I pray my 16 y.o. son gets to experience the joys and pains of deeply knowing, understanding and being vulnerable with another soul because it is life altering when you fall in love.
Be present every minute of every day. Physically connect with other people and verbalize your thoughts via a phone call every now and then to keep your connections going! We as humans crave intimacy. Cell phones, apps, small movie clips, video games, live streaming, emojis and touched up photos on social media is not the same as looking into someone’s eyes, holding hands and connecting. The ability to build long lasting relationships is amazing a d a gift. Presence is a present from the Universe.
