Make it spicy!!!! 🔥

BBQ Celebration

When you are someone who is going through a self care/ self love journey, all details and decisions made within your life journey matter. I have spent years building routines and life hacks to get through almost ANY social situation doing limited dietary intake damage. Of COURSE I derail for days or even weeks sometimes. The end goal is to make most of my days better than not. I thought I knew EVERY trick in the book, until I was invited and went to this bbq with a good friend.

Oh. My. GOODNESS!! If you could have seen the spread of food and options provided! It was mind blowing. Absolutely mind altering. This bbq is annual and family comes from all over to attend this amazing shindig. There was a deejay, pitmaster and all the old school attendees brought their famous side dishes. Words can not detail the options available to consume.

I have my nonprofit walk efent coming up, a girl’s trip to Vegas to unwind, then a huge charity brunch, and then a week in Jamaica. I need to get my body back on track and decided to stick to meat, veggies and a little fruit. I loaded my plate with greens, grilled meats and a few Strawberries. When I began eating, I realized everyone flavored their food on the spicy side! It taste phenomenal but I literally am so sensitive to spices.

As a result of my food being on the spicy side, it took me a WHILE to finish My plate. I drank loads of water, and when my food was eaten, a sigh of relief came over my body. The food was so ridiculously great, at the same time, the food was spicy for my pallet. I literally couldn’t not go back for seconds. I did not over eat. I did not have dessert.

Tonight, I made low carb chili for dinner. I intentionally made it a tad on the spicy side. I ate a smaller portion because of the heat in the chili! I learned a new food intake management technique without trying! 🤣
