Rattled Nerves

I had an horrible contact situation where a contact dissipated in my left eye causing tiny pieces to be stuck in my eye at the back of my eyeball whichever caused a MASSIVE infection in my left eye which stemmed for over a year and a half. After a surgery & 6 antibiotics, I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I am almost completely done with antibiotics. My last round of antibiotics has been a 2 month stimt. At my last eye doctor appointment I was told my eye is FINALLY healing up nicely. It has been a long 1.5 years!

I have been wearing glasses for a full 1.5 years. The excellent part about being in a Pandemic is we have not done anything spectacular or traveled anywhere. My family and I are home all of the time! I feel uncomfortable and odd 24/7 in glasses. I teach fitness classes, personal train and health coach. My life is EXTREMELY active! Having glasses has been an annoying burden. When I teach class, my glasses slip off my face or I have to take them off- which leaves me squinting at the class. I am not able to do my job as efficiently or effectively as I would like. Something has GOT to give.

At my last eye doctor appointment, the doctor explained my eye is healed to a point I could wear contacts again. The mere thought of wearing contacts again makes me get a migraine. I absolutely can not wear contacts again. I have hundreds of dollars of contacts in my bathroom unused which will never be used. I have decided to get Lasik. Having a laser on my eyeballs scare me to death…but I would rather endure a laser on my eye than try to ever put a contact back in my eye. I am truly traumatized. Alcon could care less how this event has changed and traumatized my life! All men for themselves!

I am beyond nervous and scared but I am going to do this.
