Food to associate & Cope

It has come to my realization that I had used food to cope with all if my emotions. Happy Birthday!!!! I eat cake because it is a celebration- why not!? My marriage crumbles and I instantly get stressed out and I indulged in cheese fries and booze. Happy Valentine’s day..I HAVE to have my Reece peanut butter Heart. My boss makes me mad at work and all of us co-workers go have a beer. The very latest emotional eating episode came from this Coronavirus Pandemic. I have been stress eating like no other.

Food should not be associated with living your life. Food is a substance to survive. Life should be about experiences. How about “Happy Birthday! Let’s go skiing” or the Coronavirus has everyone jobless and on stay-in home orders so “let’s go for a run in the neighborhood.” After realizing af my issues due to my many emotions I decided I am going to make a list of the many things that food has been used for to cope (emotionally/mentally/celebration rituals) and come up with a new strategy to cope.

I do believe that life is about celebrating the fantastic events that happen in your life. I look forward to celebrating everything due to me, accomplishments and my life! Tonight I will make a list of what this all means to me and how I will be progressing forward! Stay safe! Stay well!
