Off Track??

Today I awakened feeling bloated. I looked in the mirror and thought “Girlfriend, what have you been eating!?” I realized in that very moment of time that I truly couldn’t answer my own self what I was consuming 🤦🏾‍♀️.

Let me back up a few moments and explain (not justify!) my week. My husband left on a business trip for the week which left me a single mother of a teenage son and two toddler daughters. The task he would normally help me with were now solely on me. My day became extremely full between school drop off, pick ups, practices, work and everything else revolving in my world. In order to handle the increased load, I had to minimize my social communications. I realized AFTER my husband left for his business trip that recently a very large portion of my dietary intake were salads he would bring home from work. With those no longer an option, I smacked myself in the forehead because I hadn’t done any food prep for the week. I began eating convenient food. Although these foods were healthy, I had been consuming an unknown amount and therefore most likely over consumed. 🤦🏾‍♀️

No worries. We all have had weeks like this. My game plan is to run by Sam’s Club tomorrow after work and grab a rotisserie chicken, salad mix and other snacks low glycemic index fruits like Strawberries. Now that I am aware, I know how to correct this course and will make the appropriate changes to achieve success tomorrow! As of tonight? My dinner consisted of air Fryer veggies with low sodium seasoning and no oils or butter! I am now conscious and will no longer allow myself to be unaware.

My change starts NOW.
