Sensitivities Reset

Loveland Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

About a year ago, I was having major bowel issues. I will leave the details of “major” up to the imagination. Let’s just say, not good. Not good AT. ALL. After multiple doctors appointments where Nothing was found, I finally found a holistic doctor who wanted to rule out food sensitivities. After I took my food sensitivity test, I realized I was highly sensitive to 53 foods/spices! I immediately shifted my dietary intake to reflect the changes in my intake which was conducive to my sensitivities. I had drastic positive results from eliminating foods to which I was sensitive to. 🙌🏾

Fast forward a year. Slowly but surely foods that I should consume have been added back into my diet. I look and feel like crap. I can feel the constant body inflammation. Light headaches, light rashes, distended stomach, puffy face, icky mood, gas…all the problems. I have not added in a lot of items however I stopped being so strict about checking ingredients in the items I do eat. I shouldn’t eat cumin but “who eats black beans without cumin!? One bite won’t hurt.” I told myself lies to be able to slip in enough icky foods to where I am feeling terrible. Days of low level inflammation became one huge ball of inflation one day. My busy schedule from adding on multiple responsibilities didn’t help my attention span towards my sensitivities. With so many obligations and lack of planning…this is what happens!

It always amazes me when I know without a doubt what is good for me and still make poor choices. I became mentally exhausted constantly tracking spices and dairy. Everything seemed to have something In it that was not good for my body inflammatory issues. I felt like the constant tracking was too time consuming. At the end of the day, I told myself lies to make my life seemingly simple and In the end, I completely sabatoged my health. I was not comfortable constantly watching my food intake for sensitivities, now I am miserable with my constant body inflammation. I would rather be a tad inconvenienced than miserable. I would rather feel comfortable in my jeans instead of gassy/bloated. Was th cumin or eggs in my salad truly worth it?

So, I begin cleaning up my diet today. This my journey to take.
